며느리밑씻개[마디풀과 여뀌속]

참으로 이름이 고약하다. 줄기와 잎자루에 밑으로 고부라진 가시가 사납게 나있는 이 풀에 며느리밑씻개라는 

이름을 붙인 것은 고부갈등 때문인 것 같다. 얼마나 며느리가 미우면 이런 이름이 붙었을까 

비슷한 풀로 '며느리배꼽'이 있는데 꽃이 흰색이고 잎이 조금 다를 뿐 전체적인 모습은 흡사하다.

 

 

며느리밑씻개의 잎은 길쭉한 삼각형이고 잎자루의 끝에 잎이 달린다.
