물여뀌[마디풀과 여뀌속]

못이나 수로 등에서 자라는 여러해살이 수생식물이다.

원줄기는 물속에서 자라고 옆으로 기면서 마디에서 뿌리가 내리며 털이 없다. 물 위의 줄기는 곧추서고 잎이 많이

달린다. 잎은 어긋나기 이며 긴 타원형이다. 꽃은 8~9월에 붉은빛이 도는 흰색으로 피는데 잎겨드랑이에서 나온
