식물체 전체에서 냄새가 강하게 난다.

줄기는 아래쪽부터 갈라지고 전체에 부드러운 털이 있다.

꽃은 5~10월에 핀다.

유럽원산의 귀화식물로 남쪽지방과 제주도에 자란다
