당조팝나무[장미과 조팝나무속]

동글동글한 꽃송이가 탐스러운 공조팝나무다.

주로 중국에서 자란다 하여 "당"이라는 접두어가 붙었다

비슷한 나무로 아구장나무가 있는데 자세히 보지 않으면 구분이 되지 않을 정도로 비슷하다.

당조팝나무는 어린 가지에 짧은 털이 있고 높은 산의 바위지대에 자라는 것으로 구분한다
