용담 [용담과 용담속]

산지 숲 가장자리 햇볕이 잘 드는 곳에서 자라는 여러해살이풀이다. 줄기는 자줏빛을 띠며 높이 20~100cm이다.

잎은 난형으로 잎 가장자리와 잎줄기에 잔돌기가 있어 까칠까칠하다. 꽃은 8~9월에 줄기 끝이나 위쪽 겨드랑이에

1개 또는 몇 개씩 달리며 보라색에 흰점이 있다. 뿌리를 약용한다.
