꼬인용담[용담과 용담속]

높은 산 능선부 풀밭에 자라는 한해살이풀로서 줄기는 곧추서며 위쪽에서 가지가 갈라지고 높이 3~20cm이다.

꽃은 8~9월에 피는데 줄기와 가지 끝에 1개씩 달리는데 개화 초기에 나선형으로 꼬여서 나오며 청자색이다.

이 꽃은 2007년에 강원도 금대봉에서 처음 발견되었으며 꽃이 꼬여서 나오기 때문에 붙여진 이름이다
