단양쑥부쟁이[국화과 참취속]

단양 부근과 경기도 용인 남한강 가의 자갈 또는 모래땅에서 자라는 2년생 꽃이다.

강가의 모래땅에 살기 때문에 홍수로 인하여 서식지가 파괴되고 자주 바뀌며

4대강 사업으로 자생지가 많이 훼손되어 자연상태에서 보기가 쉽지가 않다.

꽃줄기는 전 년도의 줄기에서 계속 자라며 가지가 많이 갈라진다.

뿌리에서 돋은 잎은 길고 좁은 타원형이며 꽃이 필때 없어지고 줄기잎은 잎자루가 없는 선형이다.

꽃은 8~10월에 피며 자주색이며 꽃자루에 좁은 잎이 달리고 총포는

반구형이고 포편은 2열로 배열되는데 끝이 뾰족하고 털이 다소 있다
