왜개연[수련과]

연못에서 자라는 여러해살이풀이며 굵은 뿌리줄기가 진흙 속에서 벋어나간다

잎은 수중 잎과 뜨는 잎이 있으며 넓은 난형이다. 7~8월에 긴 꽃자루가 나와 물 위에서 피고

꽃잎 같은 꽃받침이 5개이고 꽃잎은 수술의 및 부분에 있는데 주걱 같은 도란형이다

남개연은 암술이 붉은 색인데 비해 왜개연은 암술이 노란색이다
