새우난초[난초과]

비옥한 토양에서 잘 자라는 난초과의 여러해살이 풀이다

뿌리 줄기에 마디가 많아 마치 새우의 등처럼 생겼다 하여 새우난초라고 부르며 제주도, 태안반도, 전남 해안지방의

숲속에서 자란다. 노란 색 꽃이 피는 금새우난과의 자연교잡으로 한라새우란, 신안새우란, 다도새우란 등의 교잡종이

생겨 났다.

4월에 적자색의 꽃이 피며 녹화된 것과 흰색 꽃을 피는 새우란도 있다
