유라시아 원산의 귀화식물로 풀밭에서 자라는 한 해 또는 두해살이풀이다

귀화식물답게 터를 잡은 면 무섭게 번식하여 무리 지어 자란다

광대나물과 다르게 식용할 수 없으며 약으로 쓰인다
