물통이 [쐐가풀과 물통이속]

산지의 물이 흐르는 돌틈이나 습하고 그늘진 곳에 자라는 물통이는 물이 통통하게 들어 있다고 하여 물통이라 부른다.

줄기는 연하고 녹색이며 잎은 마주나고 둥글며 가장자리가 밋밋하다.

꽃은 7~8월에 수꽃과 암꽃이 함께 모여 달린다.
