망초[국화과 망초속]

북아메리카 원산의 두해살이풀로서 50~150cm 까지 자라며 줄기는 곧추서고 세로로 여러줄이 있으며 거칠고 긴 털이

있다. 뿌리잎은 주걱 모양이고 가장자리에 톱니가 있다. 줄기에 나는 잎은 댓잎같은 피침형이고 위로 갈수록 작아저서

줄 모양이 된다. 꽃은 7~9월에 흰색으로 피는데 원추화서에 많은 꽃이 달리며 꽃부리는 혀꽃이다.
