천남성, 둥근잎천남성[천남성과]

산지의 음습지에서 자라는 여러해살이풀이다.

잎 : 위경의 꼭대기에 1개의 잎이 달리고 소엽은 3~5개이며 가장자리가 밋밋하다.

꽃 : 암수 딴 그루이며 5~7월에 육수꽃차례에 1개의 꽃이 달리며 불염포 통부는 녹색 또는 자주색이고 윗부분이

     모자처럼 앞으로 꼬부라지며 끝이 뾰족하다. 꽃차례의 연장부는 곤봉형이다.

열매 : 장과이고 육수꽃차례에 옥수수 알처럼 열리고 적색으로 익는다

뿌리 : 알뿌리이며 거담 및 지통제, 파상풍 약으로 사용한다.

천남성과의 차이 : 천남성은 잎의 가장자리에 톱니가 있고, 둥근잎천남성은 톱니가 없다

특이 점 : 천남성류는 덩이줄기의 성장에 따라 영양상태가 좋으면 수그루에서 암그루로 바뀌고 열매를 맺으며

               영양상태가 나빠지면 수그루가 된다.
