들쭉나무[진달래과 산앵도나무속]

설악산에서 담은 들쭉나무이다.

백두산 언저리와 일본의 대설산에서는 흔하게 볼 수 있는 나무지만

국내에서는 좀처럼 보기 어려운 나무라서 어렵게 담은 나무이다.

키가 1m 내외로 작으며, 잎은 난형으로 두껍다.

꽃은 5~7월에 전년도 줄기 끝에 달리는데 단지 모양이고 연한 붉은색이다

열매는 장과이며 타원형이고 9월에 검게 익는다.
