산에 피는 작약류 중에 유일하게 분홍색으로 피는데
꽃송이가 백작약이나 참작약보다 훨씬 작고 봉우리가 활짝 열리지 않고 조금만 열린다
남획이 심하여 보기가 참으로 어렵고 숲이 자꾸만 우거지는 바람에 빛을 못받아서 개체 수가
계속 감소하는 귀한 꽃이다.
