꼬마수련[수련과 수련속]
우리가 흔히 보는 수련은 꽃이 크고 색도 여러 가지인 미국 또는 유럽 수련이다.
우리나라 자생종 수련은 멸종위기 2급식물로 지정된 '각시수련'과 2016년에 새로 발표된 '꼬마수련'이 있다.
꽃의 크기는 미국(유럽)수련(지름10cm 이상) > 꼬마수련(지름 4~5cm) > 각시수련(지름 3cm) 순으로
꼬마수련은 미국수련의 1/2 정도이고 각시수련보다는 꽃과 잎이 조금 더 크다.
강원도 고성, 경남 거창, 전남 순천에서 자생지가 확인되었으며 5~10월에 흰색의 꽃이 핀다
