대극과 식물은 배상꽃차레라는 독특한 모양의 꽃차레에 꽃이 핀다

5장의 잎이 돌려나고 잎겨드랑이에서 각 1씩의 꽃대가 나온다

1개의 꽃대에는 2장의 총포가 달리고 다시 2개의 작은 꽃대가 나온다

작은 꽃대(소총포)에는 1개의 암술, 여러 개의 수술이 있고 4개의 선체가  있다.

열매는 매끈하고 돌기가 없다
