애기가래[가래과 가래속]

가래나 애기가래와 다르게 흐르는 수로에 주로 서식하는 여러해살이풀이다.

수중잎은 실처럼 가늘고 길게 자라고, 물위에 뜨는 잎은 타원형으로 가는가래의 잎과 비슷하다.

꽃은 6~9월에 피는데 물 위에 뜨는 잎의 잎겨드랑이에서 나오는 이삭꽃차레에 달린다.

꽃차레의 크기도 이름처럼 작다.
