솜방망이[국화과]

양지바르고 건조한 산자락에 특히 무덤에서 잘 자라는 여러해살이 풀.

키는 20~60cm 이고 원줄기는 꽃줄기형으로 거미줄 같은 흰 털이 밀생 하며 자줏빛이 돈다

뿌리에서 돋은 잎이 로젯형의 장타원형인데 양면에 솜털이 덮여 있기 때문에 솜방망이라고 한다

꽃은 3~6월에 피며 어린싹을 나무로 하고 꽃 부분을 거담제로 사용한다
