[진달래과의 잎지는 넓은 잎 작은키 나무]
키가 2~3m 이고 낮은 산에서 부터 높은 산에 까지 자라는 관목으로
6~7월에 종모양의 작은 꽃이 많이 달리며 열매는 검은콩 처럼 동그랗고 검은색인데 신맛이 강하나 먹을 수 있다
가을에 단풍이 붉은색으로 곱게 들어 아주 예쁘다
올 해는 노란색 꽃이 피는 정금나무를 만났다
