길가, 바닷가, 낮은 산지 등에 잘 자라는 반떨기나무로 뿌리는 두꺼운 목질이다
줄기는 높이40 ~110cm 정도로 자라고 밑부분이 나무처럼 되고 잎은 넓은 난형으로
2~3회 깃 모양으로 완전히 갈라진다
