바닷가 양지에 자라는 두해살이풀로 전체에 털이 많다

줄기는 가지가 갈라지고 높이 30~70cm이다

꽃은 5~6월에 분홍색으로 피며 줄기 또는 가지 끝에 취산꽃차레를 이룬다
