우리나라의 특산식물인데 못된 손들에 의해 자꾸만 없어지는 멸종위기 1급 야생식물이다.
주머니처럼 생긴 입술꽃잎이 요강을 닮아서 붙여진 이름이다
한국 적색목록에 멸종위기종(CR), 세계 적색목록에 위기종(EN)으로 지정되어 있다.
