현호색 중 미색을 띠는 것을 봉화현호색으로 별도 분류한다

현호색은 잎의 변이가 심해서 잎의 모양으로 구분하기는 어렵고

꽃의 모양과 씨앗의 배열 들으로 구분하는 것이 더 쉽다.
